Shinjuku Machi Fes looks like one festival on the bureau homepage. It is not. Fan Street is four hours on one Saturday. Happy Collab and the mystery rally are two weeks indoors. Bar Week is four ticketed nights, and the last one starts after the festival's printed end date. If you treat the map as a checklist you will queue for a bracelet, miss Shinjukuma, and still not have a drink in Golden Gai.
Saturday 24 October is the only street day
Cars leave Shinjuku-dori from 9:00 to 17:00, Shinjuku 3-chome crossing to Daiguard-higashi, plus More 4th Street. Booths and sets run 11:00 to 15:00. Severe weather cancels this block. The bureau does not write "light rain goes ahead" the way it did for Park Cinema. Check kanko-shinjuku.jp that morning.
Shinjukuma, JR Shinjuku's bear, appears at 11:15, 13:30 and 14:30. Each slot is about 30 minutes. The station-master jacket fits 90 to 150 cm. That is the one timed thing on the street. EPPAI and Masatomoja, MASH, and WAIWAI STEEL BAND are named. Minute-by-minute start times are not. Stand on the Isetan side if you want the stage in front of you. Kitchen cars are on More 4th Street, not on the main crossing.
Paid workshops that sell out: Elbreath × CHUMS bracelet 550 yen, indigo walnut button at Some no Sato 700 yen, Fukoku paper roll 300 yen. Free ones that also sell out: Lumine's Nishiyama stamp bag, Isetan's ultrasuede charm, Rurubu's five-minute hojicha roast. Isetan will queue. Go there first if that is the object, then walk west toward JR.
The two-week version is a shopping list, not a parade
From 24 October to 8 November the street reopens and the festival moves into stores. You do not need the Saturday closure to use this half.
Say the line out loud. Future Gallery's free VR, 24 October to 7 November except 25 October and 1 November, only hands the sticky-note set to the first 300 people who say they saw the Machi Fes site. Under 7s are out. Keio's hamburg set on MB, 29 October to 4 November, drops from 1,350 yen to 1,080 yen on the same sentence, 20 people a day. Odakyu's tea-for-bento deal is 24 October only, first 200, B2. Nakamuraya's curry two-pack is 2,200 yen for 200 sets. Disney Flagship and kino cinéma are sticker days. Loft on Marui 3F wants one collab SKU plus the Loft app for tape, first 100.
The mystery rally is the only piece that forces you across the station. Ten panels. Start ID 2026. Phone on. Seven correct answers unlock a lottery at Shinjuku Tourist Information, 3-37-2 Shinjuku, 10:00 to 19:00. Ten correct answers put 109 Cinemas Premium tickets for two in that draw. Kits live at Odakyu, Lumine Est 8F, Lumine 2, Kabukicho Tower 4F, Elbreath, Takano B2, Rurubu, both Marui buildings. Do not ask shop staff for answers. The hunter-point GPS only works near the report desk.
Bar Week is a different product
shinjuku-bar.tokyo sells four nights. 18 October is Shinjuku 3-chome, BAR-HOP NIGHT, 16:00 to 22:00, 1,000 yen advance, 1,500 yen door, 700-yen drinks, no charge. 28 and 29 October is Gyoenmae, six stubs, 3,500 yen advance. 1 November is Golden Gai, 15:00 to 22:00, drinks from 500 yen, lottery after five bars. 10 and 11 November is Oku-Shinjuku, 1,500 yen advance, after the festival page's 8 November end. Buy one night. Do not stack Fan Street and Golden Gai in your head as the same weekend. They are a week apart.
One more date that is not a festival. Shinjuku City restricts street drinking in parts of Shinjuku 3-chome and Kabukicho 1-chome from 17:00 on Saturday 31 October to 5:00 on 1 November. Staff will tell you to stop. Climbing lamps and speakers on the pavement are already banned. Drink inside. The 1 November Golden Gai night starts after that window.
