About Suga Shrine

Suga Shrine (Sugacho 5) is the ujigami of Yotsuya’s eighteen neighbourhoods, known locally as Tenno-sama. Susanoo and Ukanomitama are enshrined. The Tokyo Jinjacho lists the annual festival on 4 June. Phone 03-3351-7023. Official site sugajinjya.or.jp. The long stone stair is the same one used in Makoto Shinkai’s Your Name. Anime visitors come for that shot. Neighbourhood people still come to pray. Write both uses. It is a 10-minute walk from Yotsuya or Shinanomachi, or a walk east from Shinjuku Gyoen’s Okido Gate. Do not sell it as a mall or as a film set with no shrine.
