About This Event / イベントについて
Colour in Shinjuku Gyoen is a season, not a ticketed festival. Japanese maple and ginkgo usually turn from mid-November into early December. The Ministry photo desk publishes the trees. It does not publish a 2026 peak day. Walk it more than once if you can.
Winter hours are already in force. Open 9:00 to 16:30. Last entry 16:00. Mondays closed, with the chrysanthemum exception of 1 to 15 November. After the 16th the Monday lock returns. The orchid week that follows does not lift it. Adult ticket ¥500. Age 65 and students ¥250. Junior high and younger free.
The Japanese garden holds the maples over water. The English lawn is the ginkgo. The old English URL on env.go.jp/garden/shinjukugyoen no longer resolves. Use the Ministry garden site and the month calendar. Shinjuku Gate is Shinjuku-Gyoenmae. Sendagaya Gate is Sendagaya Station. No garden parking.
