Kasairo at Lumine Shinjuku is a Cantonese and Sichuan Chinese restaurant on the seventh floor of the Lumine 1 building, directly connected to JR Shinjuku Station's south exit. The restaurant is known for its good views over the west side of Shinjuku, which together with a bright interior and 61 seats makes it a popular lunch venue for shoppers and office workers. The menu spans classic Cantonese dishes and spicier Sichuan fare, with dan dan noodles as a signature option alongside dim sum, fried rice and stir-fried seafood. Lunch courses are priced around 1,000 yen, with dinner courses starting at around 2,000 yen, and the kitchen caters to families with a baby buggy area, nappy-changing room and permission to bring weaning food. Opening hours run from 11:00 to 22:00 with last orders at 21:00, and the restaurant closes in line with the Lumine 1 building schedule. Because it sits only a minute's walk from the JR south exit ticket gates, it is one of the most accessible sit-down Chinese restaurants in Shinjuku, but the lunch hour between 12:00 and 13:30 can fill up quickly, so arriving shortly after 11:00 or after 14:00 usually means a shorter wait.
