FUKUEI Coffee and Chocolate is a speciality coffee and chocolate shop originating from Koriyama in Fukushima Prefecture, which opened its first Tokyo location on the ground floor of Shinjuku Marui Main Building in December 2024. The shop roasts its own coffee beans in-house and produces bean-to-bar chocolate from cacao at its own factory, giving it complete control over both products from raw material to finished item. Its Tokyo debut was met with considerable excitement, bringing a taste of Fukushima's thriving cafe culture to the capital. The coffee selection features single-origin and blended beans roasted on-site, with a focus on speciality-grade beans that highlight the distinct characteristics of each origin. The chocolate offerings range from rich dark bars to confections that pair cacao with Japanese flavours, all crafted from the bean up. The combination of house-roasted coffee and artisan chocolate under one roof is relatively rare in Tokyo, making FUKUEI a distinctive addition to the Shinjuku cafe scene. Opening hours are 11:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, with closing days following the Marui Main Building schedule. The shop's position on the ground floor of Marui, just steps from Shinjuku-sanchome Station, makes it an easy addition to any Shinjuku shopping itinerary, and its compact counter-style setup is well suited to a quick espresso and chocolate pairing.
