Pensta ルミネエスト新宿店

Pensta Lumine EST Shinjuku is a character goods store operated by JR East Cross Station, located on the B1 floor of Lumine EST Shinjuku at 3-38-1 Shinjuku. The shop opened on 7 March 2024 as the second Pensta location in Japan, and it is entirely themed around the Suica penguin, the beloved mascot of JR East's Suica IC transit card designed by illustrator Chiharu Sakazaki. The store carries over 300 items of Suica penguin merchandise, including keychains, plush toys, apparel, stationery and Tokyo souvenirs, many of which are exclusive to the Shinjuku location. The shop interior is inspired by colourful Japanese railway route maps, creating a playful atmosphere that appeals to both railway enthusiasts and fans of kawaii culture, and a penguin statue greets visitors at the entrance. Opening hours are 11:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and 10:30 to 21:00 on weekends and holidays. The store is approximately one minute on foot from Shinjuku Station on the JR lines, and tax-free shopping is available for international visitors, making it a popular stop for tourists seeking uniquely Japanese souvenirs tied to the country's railway culture.
