About This Event / イベントについて
The Vietnam Banh Mi Festival 2026 is billed as Japan's first large festival built around banh mi, the rice-flour baguette sandwich. It occupies Fun More Time Plaza (the former water plaza) in Shinjuku Central Park on Saturday 26 September (11:00–20:00) and Sunday 27 September (10:00–18:00). Co-organisers include the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in Japan. Shinjuku City and Japan's Immigration Services Agency are listed as supporters.
About 30 food booths serve banh mi plus Vietnamese coffee. The stage programme mixes talks, live music and dance (including Bybe Monogatari on both afternoons). Workshops cover star lanterns, non-la hat painting, and ao dai try-on. Admission is free; you pay for food and paid workshops. Vietnam Airlines is a special sponsor.
Tochomae Station (Oedo Line, exit A5) is about a one-minute walk. JR Shinjuku west exit is about 10 minutes on foot. Check banhmi-fes.com for stall PDFs and stage times, which were posted from 19 August 2026.
